Welcome to Le Café Des Orgues, a hidden gem nestled in the charming village of Herzeele, France. Located at 2 Rue des Orgues, this unique café invites you to step back in time and bask in an ambiance that resonates with nostalgia and lively entertainment. Renowned for its collection of three original Mortier organs, this spot captures the essence of a bygone era, perfect for those looking to enjoy a delightful day out.

As you enter Le Café Des Orgues, you are immediately enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Brightly colored decor, coupled with the cheerful melodies emanating from the legendary organs, sets the stage for an unforgettable experience. Customers rave about the friendly owner and staff, who bring a personal touch to every visit. Dieter Vanmarcke encapsulates this sentiment perfectly by noting that his family had a “great afternoon” thanks to the amiable service and vibrant atmosphere.

Imagine yourself seated at one of the cozy tables, sipping on a refreshing drink while enjoying the enchanting music from the Mortier organs. Ralph-Christian Hartman enthusiastically shares, “Unbelievable, but very true > three truly magnificent Mortier orgues playing at their Best.” Here, you can indulge in light bites while letting the infectious energy of the café sweep you onto the dance floor. The inviting vibe encourages you to get up and move—dancing with friends, twirling about, or perhaps even letting loose in your most glamorous attire, just like many others have done before you!

Although the menu may offer a limited selection of food and drink, Steve Durbin eloquently points out that it's all about the ambiance here. When the organs take center stage and the floor fills with lively dancers, the culinary offerings become secondary to the experiences shared among patrons. The nostalgia of the old dance cafes brings back fond memories for many, and Sjon Baum reflects on this sentiment beautifully, emphasizing how such a treat shouldn’t be lost to time.

As you soak in the atmosphere, you might also note some suggestions from patrons like Robin, who expressed his thrill at returning to a place that’s been revived with care. His remarks highlight the importance of preserving this unique venue and its cherished instruments for future generations. While he mentioned the plexiglass around the organs might dampen the sound a bit, it’s clear that the overall experience at Le Café Des Orgues is not just about the music; it’s about reliving joyous memories with family, friends, and fellow enthusiasts.

Whether you’re a local or visiting the Dunkerque/Lille area, a trip to Le Café Des Orgues is an absolute must. Why not treat yourself to an extraordinary afternoon filled with delightful music, delectable bites, and joyous dance? This café is more than just a place to eat or drink; it's an experience that brings people together in celebration of life, laughter, and the sounds of the past. So gather your loved ones and prepare for an exceptional outing that delights the senses and warms the heart.

Somewhere you have to visit if in this area! Old dance organs - three of them, played all evening with a lot of people dancing, sometimes very seriously. Night we were here, there were a lot of young people in fancy dress, but no idea if that is usual. Limited range of food and drink, but with this atmosphere, who cares?
